Income Levy Tax Refunds?
There are a number of situations in which you may be due an income levy refund, including if you had a Medical card or earned below an income limit. Here’s an example of a refund for a Medical Card holder.
Income Levy Tax Refund Example:
Patricia Andrzejewski earned 15,000 in 2010 and paid 2% Income Levy. But she had a Medical Card for part of that year, so was exempt from paying Income Levy and is due a tax refund. How much will she get back?
Answer: €15,000 x 2% = €300 paid. Full Tax Refund of €300 as she had a Medical Card.
Note: The Income Levy was charged in 2009 & 2010. If you had a medical card at any stage in those years and worked at all, make sure you claim tax back
