    Nursing Care

    Tax relief can be claimed for nursing care at home or in a hospital, provided by a qualified nurse upon a doctor's recommendation. A medical certificate indicating the need for care, proof of the nurse’s qualifications, and payment receipts are required. Retain all original documents for Revenue verification.     Nursing Home

    Tax relief on nursing home expenses is available for fees paid for yourself or others, as long as the facility provides 24-hour nursing care. HSE-covered expenses are not eligible. For shared costs, you can claim only your portion. Receipts and resident information are required for verification. Find out more HERE .

    Cosmetic Surgery Procedures

    Tax relief for cosmetic surgery is allowed only for correcting serious, life-threatening conditions, defects or injuries on the advice of a doctor.. Procedures aimed solely at improving appearance are not eligible. A doctor's referral letter is required for verification. Find out more HERE .

    Acupuncture

    Speech and Language Therapy/Psychological assessment for a child

    Tax relief for child's healthcare is allowed for children under 18 or over 18 in full-time education if they have a life-threatening illness, permanent disability, or cancer.     Kidney/Dialysis

    Hospital dialysis kidney patients can claim relief on the cost of travelling to and from the hospital. Home dialysis patients and chronic ambulatory peritoneal dialysis patients can claim tax relief on electricity, laundry, protective clothing and phone costs up to certain limits.     Travel/Accommodation for healthcare outside Ireland

    Travel and accommodation costs are eligible for healthcare unavailable in Ireland. This includes costs for a person who accompanies the patient if needed. The medical practitioner must be registered in the local country. A doctor's letter is required to confirm the unavailability of care in Ireland. Find out more HERE .
